Now that I have completed my project’s learning objectives I think I can write a short bit on what I learned from the process. I wish I remembered exactly where this came from but it was the best reminder for creating objectives that I found. I have it hanging on my note board so I can see it while I am writing.
Effective Learning Objectives are:
clearly stated
measurable
realistic and do-able
appropriate and
worthy
I was working on the “big” project last week, just entering definition tables, getting ready for the big writing push for that particular learning nugget. I took a moment to review my schedule when it hit me….this “nugget” will replace a 250 page manual and maybe I needed more than a week to write it. Oh yes, a real light bulb moment!
So taking a break from the nugget writing as the latest is in SME review and back to completing another section of objectives.

Here’s an Easy Way to Create Learning Objectives
I have fallen behind in my Captivate work. It is still a big part of my project but not until the end. I am slightly disappointed that I am not making the time to continue my “tool” education. I suppose I should examine my schedule and set time aside as that is the only way I can manage to fit it in.
