More Navel Gazing

What are the top three lessons I learned?  An often repeated lesson, but one that I am pretty sure I have finally “gotten”…work is not everything, it is a way to support myself and I do need to enjoy it, but it needs not to be the focus of my existence.  Since I have moved, I have done a much better job of setting boundaries and limits for my work.  I am still trying to figure out how to fit in fun or even how to have fun, but that is on tap for this year! 

 

Lesson 2:  Mike is responsible for his life being in the state it is in and no one can change that but him.  I don’t have to feel guilty any more. 

Lesson 3: I am an okay person.

What increased my happiness and joy this year? That Terry and I live in the same town at the same time and in the same house has added the most happiness and joy to my life.  Casey’s arrival is a very close second. 

 

What did I avoid that I must pay more attention to in 2009? I honestly did a pretty good job of paying attention to the important things, my relationships with other people.  What I need to work on in 2009 is reconnecting with a church.  I miss my Metro family and think Southwest will be a good fit for us, but we need to actually GO to find out.  We haven’t been very good about that.

 

What character trait did I develop most this year? Interesting that this question is here as my latest self-help book is Character Makeover.  While patience is the trait I need to work on the most, I think I made the most progress on improving that trait…still needs more work!

Casey

Made his apperance late Wednesday.  He is perfect, beautiful and everything I hoped he would be…I am speechless.

No Baby…yet!

Big Sigh!   We are still in waiting mode for baby Casey to make his appearance. 

In other home news, the work in the kitchen is progressing and we should have use of the upstairs by Saturday night!  The boys have been very stressed over all the noise and having to stay locked up all day.  Poor Barry is huddling in the closet.  Not much is happening in the master.  It was raining last week, so no framing work on the outside.  We were told everything would be completed by the week before Christmas, but I am doubtful.

Waiting……for THE Call

the camera is in the car, so is a small bag with overnight essentials.  Doctor appointment is tomorrow and we expect the doctor to induce Jessie then, so look for a Baby Update tomorrow night!

Been Busy…Living Life

it has been quite a while since I last posted and as noted in the title of this post, just been plain old busy.  Terry and I have spent 4 of the last 5 weekends working in Chris’ house or helping with the baby shower.  We had one weekend home and spent that moving a few thing from the apartment into the new house.

That would mean our offer was accepted and we indeed closed on the second house.  I can not begin to convey how much it means to me to have a house that Terry and I picked out together and we will share.  The house in Orlando was his with his first wife and I really hated it….not because it was their together, just the floor plan was awful.  Of course, we had that year of living in different cities too, so things are looking up on the home front!

Grandbaby #1 will be making his appearance soon and I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE HIS LITTLE FACE and hold him and give him a little kiss and smell that sweet new baby smell…heck, I can even deal with the poopy diaper smell, cause I am sure his won’t stink!

This weekend..painting the office and unpacking boxes in the new house while waiting for Terry to get back with the rest of our stuff from Florida.  by Sunday, everything will be here…..finally!
